The Legend Returns: Meet BabaBonga's New Bong Grenade

The legend returns. Now built better.

Some designs are too distinctive to disappear quietly. The Bong Grenade was one of BabaBonga's most recognisable creations: a grenade-inspired glass piece that earned a loyal following. After a break, it's returning in a redesigned form.

From a handmade original to a purpose-built glass body

The original Bong Grenade started with a locally sourced grenade-shaped bottle. We drilled the bottle and fitted it with rubber seals, a glass oil pipe and a silicone hose. It was a hands-on BabaBonga creation, and customers made it a favourite.

The new edition takes a different approach. Instead of a modified bottle, it uses a purpose-built transparent glass body with the familiar textured grenade silhouette, an integrated downstem and a side-mounted glass elbow for the hose.

What's new in the Bong Grenade?

• Purpose-built body: The grenade-shaped glass body is designed with integrated connections rather than the original drilled-bottle arrangement.
• 14mm joint: A frosted glass joint accepts the included A-shaped glass oil burner.
• Integrated downstem: The downstem is part of the glass body.
• Side hose connector: A glass elbow provides the connection for the flexible hose.
• 12-inch silicone hose: The kit includes a hose with a plastic mouthpiece.

What's included in the new kit?

The redesigned Bong Grenade comes with a grenade-shaped glass body, an A-shaped glass oil burner with a 14mm joint, and a 12-inch silicone hose with a plastic mouthpiece.

The same silhouette, a different build

What made the original memorable hasn't changed: the unmistakable grenade-inspired texture and compact sculptural appearance. The construction, however, has been rethought from the ground up. This is not simply the old drilled bottle back on the shelf.
